Choosing between Herman Miller Aeron Sizes A, B or C
The Aeron is one of the few chairs available in three sizes. With this model, that’s no minor detail: the upholstery only works properly if the frame suits your build.
Herman Miller Aeron Size A is the smallest and suits a slimmer build.
Herman Miller Aeron Size B is the medium size and is the most common.
Herman Miller Aeron Size C is the largest, for those who are taller or heavier.
Why the Aeron became the benchmark chair
Bill Stumpf and Don Chadwick designed it in 1994. Since then, the desk chair has been regarded as the benchmark for ergonomic seating. Herman Miller has refined the design over decades rather than replacing it.
What it features today: the 8Z Pellicle upholstery that distributes your weight across eight zones, the adjustable PostureFit SL that supports your spine right down to the base, and the Harmonic 2 tilt mechanism that moves with you. So no foam, but a woven surface that allows air to pass through.

What we check when inspecting a refurbished Herman Miller Aeron
With the Herman Miller Aeron, it’s all about the upholstery and the back support.
We check the Pellicle fabric for tension and for any tears along the edge.
We test the PostureFit support across the entire adjustment range.
We record the size to ensure that no Herman Miller Aeron A is dispatched as a B or C.
We replace armrest pads, gas springs and castors where they are worn.

The Aeron alongside the rest of the range
